Barbara A. Fullerton, age 85, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8th, 2018 at Sarah Reed Senior Center of Erie. She was born October 1st, 1932 in Washington Township, Erie County, daughter of the late Harry and Mary Clark Williams.
Barbara graduated from Saegertown High School in 1951. She worked at Bucyrus Erie then was a stay-at-home mother, wife and caregiver, and in later years, a caregiver for many elderly ladies. In the 1990’s, Barbara served on the Board of Directors of the American Sterilizer Credit Union. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Erie, and was involved in numerous senior citizen groups. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and gardening, and she loved to travel.
Barbara was a very compassionate, sweet, loving, and giving lady who was always willing to lend a helping hand or give a word of encouragement to her friends, her family, or a stranger in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard D. Fullerton, who died January 15, 2008; three brothers- Mike, Ronnie and Leroy Williams; and sister, Pat Sherrick.
Survivors include her son, Rick Fullerton; daughter, Mary Beth (Kevin) Hartley; grandson, John Hartley; granddaughter, Megan (Aaron) Toldi; and great-granddaughter, Gemma Hartley Toldi; also, her sisters-in-law, Robin Williams, Diane Williams, and Carol Stoll; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara also enjoyed a close friendship with Faye, Kasey, and Jessica.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Wednesday, January 10th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be there Thursday at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Ronald J. Geisler of Christ United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
