Kevin P. Campbell, age 66, a resident of LeBoeuf Township, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Janet Campbell, born April 8, 1955 in Sewickley, PA. Kevin is survived by his wife and best friend for 44 years, Debbie Dowler Campbell; his three sons, Jason (Patty) of Cambridge Springs, Brian (Renea) of Mill Village, and John (Charity) of Ashville, NY; several grandchildren; and a sister, Cassie Campbell of Lewistown, PA, and brother, Kenny Campbell (Sue) of Cumberland, MD.
All who knew Kevin, knew that he was always willing to stop and lend a hand to anyone in need. But, family was always his top priority. He enjoyed time spent with his family, and was able to take several yearly fishing trips into Canada with his dad.
Kevin was a 1973 graduate of Fort LeBoeuf High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. One highlight from his years of playing baseball as catcher for the Bisons, was in his senior year, when he was called up to pitch the last game of the season, and threw a no-hitter!
His early years of sports led to a lifetime of involvement with Little League. He coached for Mill Village Little League for 15 years and was also commissioner for 10 of those years. He especially enjoyed teaching the new players the fundamentals of baseball, and was most proud watching his own grandkids play in all their sporting events.
Friends may visit with the family at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Saturday from 1 – 5 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Tom McAraw officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mill Village Vol. Fire Co., PO Box 6L, Mill Village, PA 16427 or Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA, 1507 Grimm Dr., Erie, PA 16501.
