Richard E Stafford, 79, of Edinboro passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2021, at Meadville Medical Center. Richard was born on April 21, 1942, son of the late Gerald Stafford and Veneiva Osborn Stafford. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School with the class of 1960 and entered the US Navy the same year, serving aboard the USS Pocono until 1963. On November 19, 1966, he married the former Nancy Louise Ulan, and she survives. He had worked at various area shops. In 1990, he was ordained and served as a pastor who was actively involved in ministry at Cambridge Springs and Albion Correctional facilities and thoroughly enjoyed ministering to residents of local nursing homes.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, other survivors include son, Rick Stafford of Erie; daughter, Liana Stafford of Edinboro; son, Shawn Stafford and his wife, Tami of Cochranton; son, Kris Stafford and his wife, Sher of Saegertown; daughter, Heather Clough and her husband, Roger of Edinboro; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and brother, Harry Stafford of Cambridge Springs; and sister, Joyce Merchant of Erie.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11 am with Pastor Ron Sheldon officiating.
