Gordon Alan Venard, 71, of Cambridge Springs passed away at his residence on September 8, 2021. Gordon was born in California on June 25, 1950, the son of the late Glen D. Venard and Maybelle Dickerson Venard. He was a Vietnam veteran who served with the US Army, 82nd Airborne.  On September 4, 1971, he married Dolores Jean Schreckengost. He had worked at General Electric in Erie and at the Fort LeBeouf bus garage until 2006. He had attended Calvary Chapel Seminary and became a pastor in 1989, and pastored Draketown Christian Church, West Green Community Church and the United Church of Springboro. He was a member of the CMA Church of Cambridge Springs and enjoyed construction projects, playing the guitar, studying the Bible and spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Venard of Cambridge Springs; son, Jason Venard and his companion, Heidi Areola of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Christa Venard of Waterford; son, John Venard of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Debbie Fitzpatrick and her husband, Chris of Cambridge Springs; grandson, Devin Chase; grandson, Nelson Melendez; grandson, Reynaldo Melendez; granddaughter, Hope Venard; grandson, Emmanuel Melendez; granddaughter, Halley Venard; grandson, Nathaniel Venard; grandson, Latavion Fitzpatrick; granddaughter, Lily Aikens; granddaughter, Neosha Fitzpatrick; granddaughter, Saraya Fitzpatrick; and great grandson, Karter Chase.

Friends are invited to a funeral service to be held at the Cambridge Springs Christian Missionary Alliance Church on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10 am. Interment will follow at Millers Station Cemetery.
