Paul O. Lewis, age 82, of Greene Township, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 after a short illness. Born in Erie on March 11, 1939, he was a son of the late Owen and Wilma Lewis. His wife of 55 years, Rita Mae Crain Lewis, survives, along with their son Kevin Lewis and his wife Jill of Waterford, their two children, Hayden and Jordyn, a nephew, Jack Farrell and his wife Wendy of Waterford, and Kellie (Brad) Scarpitti, Brian(Amanda) Farrell, and Carla(Dan) Blore.

Paul was retired from Eriez Magnetics where he worked as a welder for over 25 years. He previously served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-65, and later in life earned his pilot’s license and owned and flew his own airplane for many years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and tinkering in his garage. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

All of Paul’s siblings preceded him in death– four sisters, Jeannie McAtee, Lois Wade, Charlotte Lewis, and Ila Pianka, and two brothers, Clarence and Charles Lewis.

Services were private for the family with a graveside service and burial at Waterford Cemetery.

The Lewis family extends thanks to Dennis and the Family Hospice of Erie, who provided exceptional care.
