Billy Joseph Spencer, 86, of Cambridge Springs passed away at Meadville Medical Center on November 23, 2021, with his family by his side. Billy was born in Bartow, WV on September 9, 1935, the son of the late Virgil L. Spencer and Bertha Florence Phillips Spencer. He graduated from Randolph High School with the class of 1953. On June 9, 1956, he married Donna Mae Davenport, and she survives. Billy had worked at DIC Tool, Layke Tool, AO Smith, Macko Manufacturing and Talbar Machine of Meadville for over 20 years retiring in 1998. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and loved watching Steelers and Pirates games, hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, solving puzzles, and gardening. He will be dearly remembered as a devoted husband and father who dedicated his life to his family.
Billy was preceded in death by daughter, Carrie Szermeta in 2018, and brother, Jerry Spencer.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Donna Spencer, survivors include, daughter, Tammy Peters and her husband, Steve of Cambridge Springs; son, John Spencer of Meadville; grandson, Eric Peters and his wife, Sarah; granddaughter, Stephanie Hummel and her husband, Matt; granddaughter, Tracy Moore and her husband, Aaron; grandson, Taylor Spencer; great grandson, Drake Peters; great grandson, Sam Peters; brother, Sam Spencer and his wife, Barb of Meadville; and sister, Audrey Thompson and her husband, Charlie of Cambridge Springs.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 2-4 pm and on Saturday, November 27 from 10 am until 11 am at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev Larry Peters officiating. Interment will follow at New Richmond Cemetery.
