Donna Marie Wright, 91, a longtime resident of Edinboro, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was born in Erie on October 1, 1930 to her parents, the late William and Dorothy (Bloss) Hamilton.

She married her husband, Glade Wright, and together they owned and managed The Edinboro Beer Distributor for 44 years. They enjoyed annual vacations at Geneva-On-The Lake and St. Pete Beach, dancing at the Club, going to drive-in movies, horse racing, bowling and playing cards with friends. They were married for 65 years until his passing in 2012.
Donna was a dedicated member of both Eastern Star and Shadbush. She also loved country music, volunteering at the Edinboro Historical Society and playing bingo. She lived her later years at Niagara Village Independent Living where she enjoyed many new friendships with both residents and staff.
Her children remember her for her kindness, humor, generous spirit and unconditional love.
Survivors include her four children, David Wright and his wife Bonnie of Fairview, Debbie O’Neill and husband Regis of Edinboro, Patti Rowland of Dallas, TX, and Kristen Wright of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan Wright of Meadville, Kellen O’Neill of Edinboro, and Lesley Rowland of Dallas, TX; and great-grandson William of Meadville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved step-father John Hamilton, an infant daughter Sharon Lee, and her grandson Tyler Rowland.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. followed by a service there at 4:00 p.m.
