In the early hours on May 2nd, 2022 at UPMC Hamot Hospital, Judy Elizabeth (Lindberg) Babbitt went home to be with her Heavenly Father. 74 years ago, she was born the daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Lindberg in Corry, PA on February 29th, 1948 and raised in Beaverdam, PA. She graduated from Corry High School in 1966, and Edinboro State College in 1969 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She married the love of her life, David Babbitt, on December 20, 1969, and they had three children together, raising them at their Washington Township home, and they traveled as a family together making memories whenever they could. She worked at the Mercyhurst Child Care Center for many years as a teacher in the 3 & 4 year-old Classroom between raising her three children. She loved the daycare children as her own, and checked in with them as they grew up. She also worked at the Red Barn in Edinboro, the Summit Towne Centre Giant Eagle Deli, and retired after working at the Waterford Dollar General.

In her younger days, she played softball and would tell the story of riding down hills on her bicycle riding with her feet on the handlebars. She had enjoyed gardening and flowers, and was an important part in the lives of her grandchildren, and very involved with her family. She also took a great interest in Zoology and it nearly became her college major. She was the glue that kept everyone together as she enjoyed cooking and praying for her family, hosted family dinners, was an active member of Waterford Baptist Church, and spent most of her free time with her faithful Westie, Marcy. She had a strong interest in her family heritage, and loved to share and pass on that interest to her family. She also enjoyed watching a few of her favorite television shows, especially westerns.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents David and Lydea Lindquist, and Karl and Anna Lydia Lindberg. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 52 years David Babbitt; her children- Kevin (Ashley) Babbitt, Stacy (Scott) Kuntz, and Lori Babbitt-Bell (Keith Nordberg); grandchildren- Elisabeth (Michael) Sylvester, Josh Kuntz, Katelyn (Travis) Loper, David Pennington, Matthew Kuntz, Caleb Pennington, Emma Pennington; great-grandchildren James, Wyatt, and Alice Sylvester; sister, Susan Higgins (Bob), sister-in-law, Judith (Darryl) Lakin; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
