Leonard “Lenny” G. Kimmy, age 71 proceeded into heaven on May 3, 2022. Lenny was born on April 28, 1951 in Erie, PA, son of the late Glenn and Bernice (Proper) Kimmy. He grew up with his siblings on a small farm in Wattsburg, PA.

Lenny worked at General Electric for 38 years, retiring at age 55. He enjoyed working with his hands and often would be found tackling a project at home or helping a friend. Lenny was an avid hunter and fisherman and just loved being out in nature. He enjoyed boating and camping with his family, playing horseshoes, and being around his dogs. He was a fun loving individual with an uncanny sense of humor. Later in life he enjoyed the company of the people who cared for him, notably, Amanda Ayers.

Lenny is survived by his loving children: Gregory (Tammy) Kimmy of Waterford, PA and Sherri (Greg) Rater of Sherman, NY; his sister, Patricia (Robert) Bogert of Florida; grandchildren Adrienne, Nicholas, Rachel and Megan; and great-grandchildren Jace, Brayson and Gavin.

In addition to his parents, his brothers Kenneth, Lawrence, Thomas, and Bradley, all precede him in death.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford, PA on Tuesday, May 10th from noon – 2 pm and are invited to attend the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Rev. Alan Morrison of Wattsburg and Phillipsville United Methodist Churches will officiate. The burial will take place immediately following the service at the Wattsburg Cemetery.
