Charles James Reinsel Sr., age 80, of Summit Township, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness with cancer. He was surrounded by his family as he succumbed to the cancer that suddenly and aggressively overtook his body. He was born in Punxsutawney, PA on January 2, 1942 to the late Mary Matilda Shick Reinsel and James William Reinsel.

He was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School and after graduation he went on to join the U.S. Air Force where he specialized in intelligence. He was stationed in Germany for 3 years and was able to travel to many countries in Europe to visit.

Upon discharge, Chuck came home to marry the love of his life, Carol. They moved to Waterford to raise a family and he enjoyed everything about the country life and jumped in with both feet. One of his favorite things to do in the country was raise his hunting dogs and take them out on a hunt.

He was employed through General Electric for 32 years and then he happily retired in 1997. After retirement, he and Carol spent time traveling to casinos and buffets. He was involved with the American Legion where he went daily to sign up for the drawing and to socialize.

Originally a member at St. Cyprian’s Church, he had moved to All Saints Catholic Church when the two churches combined. He was an active member who participated in many groups of support for the church.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Reinsel and his beloved dog Katie.

Chuck is survived by his loving family: his brother Samuel Reinsel; his wife Carol Laird Reinsel; daughters Melanee Vogt (Mike), Christine Pace (Bob), and son Chuck Reinsel Jr. (Olivia). He is also survived by many grandchildren: Jordan, Ryan, Hannah, and Allison Vogt; Christopher and Andy Pace; Nolan, Aidan, and Lynzey Reinsel. He was blessed to have received a great-grandson 10 months ago who brought great joy and happiness to the family: Bowyn Michael Vogt. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
