Richard Melvin Burdick, 62, of Townville passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at UPMC Hamot after a short illness. Richard was born in Meadville on May 18, 1960, the son of Melvin Burdick and the late Lois Mae Brown Burdick. Richard graduated with the Maplewood High School Class of 1978, and on July 7, 1979, he married Cheryl Ann Jones. He was a dairy farmer and had previously worked for several farm operations in the area. For the last eight years he was employed as a mechanic for Troyer Farms. Richard enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by mother, Lois Burdick and sister, Judy Burdick.
Survivors include wife, Cheryl Burdick of Cambridge Springs; father, Melvin Burdick of Townville; daughter, Melissa Burdick (Greg Walker) of Thomasville, PA; daughter, Teresa Burdick (Ryan Berk) of Whitehall, MD; daughter, Michelle Burdick of Venango; grandchildren Brooke, Mason, Carter, Cydney and Logan; brother, Roger (Lisa) Burdick of Saegertown; uncle, Nolan (Dolores) Burdick of McKean;uncle, Neil Brown of Meadville; and many cousins neices and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, September 23, from 2-4 pm. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
