Paul F. (Rick) McLaughlin, 74, of McKean, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Saint Vincent Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Rick was born August 31, 1948, to Wilford and Betty McLaughlin. He was raised in McKean and graduated from General McLane High School in 1966. After high school he attended Gannon College. He married his wife, Deborah (Dylewski) McLaughlin in 1974 and together they had two children, Patrick and Megan. After working with his father at the family-owned construction company, he moved his family to San Antonio, Texas where he continued to pursue a career in construction. Later he started a computer business with his brother Tim, assembling custom computers and providing technical support. After 7 years, they moved back to McKean where he created his own computer business, Northeast Micro. He retired from the business in 2019. Whether he was constructing buildings or assembling computers, he did so with high standards of quality work.
Rick was very active in the community through Lions Club, Board of Directors of St. Francis Ushers Club and other events and activities. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and bowling. He was always up for a home improvement project and was also a loyal fan to the Cleveland Browns and the LA Dodgers.
Besides his parents he is proceeded in death by his brother Michael McLaughlin, John Tecza (Brother-in-Law), Nicole Tecza Radosevic (niece), and Stephen Lemock (nephew).
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Deborah; his son Patrick McLaughlin; his daughter Megan McLaughlin Asher and her husband Neil along with their children and the apple of his eyes, Charley Grace (5) and Henry Paul (2); as well as his siblings, LeAnne (Elmer) Lemock, Robin Tecza, Lori Cardenas and Timothy McLaughlin. He was brother-in-law to Diane Brownmiller, Denise (Mark) Snyder, and Jeff Dylewski, and he was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rick will be sadly missed by his family, golfing buddies, his C.G. families and SATX families and friends. He was always ready for a good party and his sense of humor was infectious. He was proud of all the blessings in his life and mostly proud of being a great husband, dad and papa.
We would like to thank all of people who helped care for Rick during his battle with cancer from the AHN Cancer Institute and to all the hard-working doctors and staff at Saint Vincent and Hamot Hospital.
Friends are invited to visiting hours at Van Matre Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and to the funeral mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in McKean on Monday at 10:00 am with Rev. Jason Feigh officiating.
