Raymond Joseph Hoffman Jr., age 88, of McKean, lost his battle with cancer on November 16, 2022 while being lovingly cared for by his daughter Missy, “the apple of his eye”. Ray was born on July 28, 1934 to Raymond J. Hoffman Sr. and Ethel Ives Hoffman in Erie PA.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brother David (Ann), sister Marlene Striker (Charles), grandson Jason McKissick, his loving and faithful wife Helen Irene (Kerstetter) Hoffman, and most recently his son Thomas Joseph Hoffman (Chris). His surviving family are his daughters- Lynn Bignell (Dennis), Leanne Becker (Russ), Frances King (John), Ellen King (James), and Melissa Hoffman (Jim); and grandchildren- Hope Gardner, Leanna Larson (John), Donna Gifford (Jerry), Amanda Donovan (Dan), Erica Cerami (Chris), Adam Beringer, Helen King, Johnny King, Carly King, James J. King (Justis), Anna Couch (Will), and Casey Jones. Ray also is survived by 14 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army and a lifetime member of St. Francis Ushers Club and The Seibenbuerger Club. He loved golfing, bowling, woodworking and bargain hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.

Visitation will be at Van Matre Funeral Home in Edinboro, PA on Sunday, Nov. 20th from 2-5pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jason Feigh, will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 am with burial following at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in McKean.
