Russell “Pap” Foltz, age 92, of Mill Village, died Sunday, September 10, 2023 at his home. Born in Curtisville, PA on January 26, 1931, he was raised in Reynoldsville, one of ten children of Irvin and Flora Sample Foltz. He married Jean M. Clark on February 14, 1953 and she preceded him in death on January 1, 2007.

Russ was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Interlake Steel until he lost his dominant arm in a work related accident. After that, he worked over 20 years at Penn Union until his retirement. He was an absolute inspiration to anyone who knew him.
Pap enjoyed the company of his 18 grandchildren and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his five children: Tona McCartney (Richard), Russell Foltz (Diane), Daniel Foltz, Randy Foltz (Jill), and Paul Foltz (Rebecca); and his last surviving sibling, Earl R. Foltz. In addition to his wife Jean, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Diane Foltz.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and may attend the funeral service there Thursday at 11:00 am.
I never had the privilege of meeting Russell, but do know his son Paul quite well. I can only think that Russell was an honorable man to have raised a son like Paul. Prayers and best wishes to the family from the Amanns.
