Allwes, George November 26, 2026 - June 25, 2026

Date of Funeral

July 7, 2026

George Allwes, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was welcomed into the presence of his dear Savior on June 25, 2026, at the age of 94.  George was born November 26, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to George and Vallie (Fischer) Allwes.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Allwes;  son George Allwes and his wife, Donna and their son, Jared; son  Mark Allwes and his wife, Beth Ann, and their daughters Katie and Heidi; daughter Barbara Behrendt and her husband, Don, and their sons Christian and Joel;   daughter Deborah Largoza and her husband, Paul;  and daughter Laura Allwes and her daughters Shaela and Breena and her sons Noah and Josiah; and five great grandchildren.  A fourth daughter, Sheryl, passed away shortly after birth.  He was preceded in death by his parents and only sibling, Paul.
George was a proud US Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War in the Army Corps of Engineers.  He married the love of his life, Barbara, on October 29, 1960.  Together they built a life centered on loving God and others.
George worked as an engineer at Northwestern Rural Electric Association in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania and continued there until his retirement.
George lived a life rooted in faith, love and devotion.  He loved the Lord; he loved his family; and he never missed an opportunity to express this to the people around him.  Today we take comfort in knowing the faith he shared so freely has become the promise he now sees fulfilled.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV) “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
