Esther Marie Closky, 84, of Cambridge Springs passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 20, 2024, after a period of declining health. Esther was born in Geneva, PA on November 11, 1939, daughter of the late Paul Gow and Viola Foust Gow. Esther graduated from Commodore Perry High School with the class of 1957 and on March 13, 1960, married the love of her life Donald J. Closky. Esther was a registered nurse practicing for over thirty-five years at the Meadville Medical Center, Presbyterian Home, and the offices of Dr. Bridge. She enjoyed collecting cobalt blue glassware, bells, birdwatching and attending auctions. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs. Esther will be remembered as a dedicated wife, devoted mother and doting grandmother.

Esther was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Eakin and brother-in-law, Richard Eakin; and daughter, Denise Closky.

Survivors include daughter, Donna M. Riley and her companion, Brian Myers of Venango; daughter, Debora Ann Baer and her husband, Dennis of Edinboro; son, Donald P. Closky and his wife, Tina of Cambridge Springs; grandchildren, Bummer Riley, Heather Beech, Stephanie Walters, Jessica Thayer, Michael Baer, Anthony Baer, Alex Baer, Katie Johns, Nina Johns; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Sunday, June 23, from 1 pm until time of service at 3 pm with Rev Rod Beardsley officiating. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ascera Care Hospice.
