Ellwood, Robert J. April 29, 1950 - August 10, 2026

Robert J. Ellwood, 76, of Cambridge Springs, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved him dearly. He was born on April 29, 1950, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, to Robert Ellwood and Josephine (Stackiewicz) Ellwood who preceded him in death.

Bob was the beloved husband of Aleis (Fowkes) Ellwood, whom he married on September 10, 1977. Together they shared 49 years of marriage. Aleis lovingly cared for Bob throughout his illness, remaining faithfully by his side and surrounding him with love and comfort until the very end.

He was the proud father of two daughters, Rachel Ellwood (Jeff Hensley) of Wattsburg, PA and Sarah Lam (Ethan) of Saegertown, PA; and Pap Pap to Sydney and Ezra Lam. He also leaves behind his brothers, Colby Ellwood (Amy) of Butler and Doug Ellwood (Kate) of Butler; his sister, Barbara McGann of Cranberry; brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and extended family.

Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from October 1969 through November 1971. He worked at Edinboro University from 1982 to 1994 and later worked at SCI Albion, from which he retired in 2005. He also enjoyed his time as a bus driver for General McLane.

Bob was a man of many interests and talents. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, riding his Harley, and he always had a soft spot for his pets. He enjoyed a good filet, watching old westerns, and spending time doing the things he loved. He was a remarkably talented carpenter, able to build and create with his own two hands. And those who knew him best would probably agree that he could be a stubborn man, but that stubbornness was also part of the character that made him uniquely Bob.

At this time, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a future date. The family would like to thank his hospice team at Interim- Presley, Bri and Jess for their compassion and support.
