Donald Earl Gray, age 92, of McKean, PA, born July 7, 1933, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. Donald is survived by his 4 children: Rick (Sue) Gray, Pam (Jim) Campbell, Chris Gray, and Dawn (Tim) Dillen; his daughter-in-law Carla Gray; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Donald is preceded in death by his beloved wife Elsie Gray, his son Michael Gray, his parents Orlo and Madeline Short Gray, two brothers- Howard Gray and Lawrence Gray, and two sisters- Alice Ferra and Charlene Hunt.
Donald worked at BuCyrus Erie until their closure in 1984, and he retired from General Electric in 1995. He served in active military service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as well as 6 years in the Army Reserves. He had a humble spirit with a witty sense of humor at times when you least expected it. He was truly a jack of all trades, could fix anything, and was always a wealth of wisdom that he shared with his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Elsie for 69 years of marriage.
In his prime, Donald enjoyed gardening, hunting with his boys, working on cars and tractors, and spending time with family and long-time friends. His door was always open with a smile and a cold beverage.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories which we will cherish forever.
Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home, Edinboro on Wednesday, February 18th from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be there Thursday at 11:00 am followed by burial at Edinboro Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at www.vanmatrefuneralhome.com.
