Stephen Mark Huntt, age 53, of Waterford, passed away August 26, 2026. He was born in Erie on October 8, 1972 and graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 1991. He then graduated from Erie County Vocational Technical School in 1992 in the machine trade/tool and die. He started working at Polymer Molding in Erie and has been employed there for 34 years.

Since he was young, Stephen loved writing stories. He wanted to put Biblical truths into stories. He also started writing poetry. He always made sure he wrote a poem for his mom on Mother’s Day. Four years ago, he wrote a book called “Truths in Poetry” and had it published.

Stephen attended Waterford Baptist Church and had developed skits during the holidays. He also spoke at Sunday Service. He benefited from Biblical teachings at Bible study on Tuesdays led by Pastor Mike Bryant from Fairview Bible Church. He also visited and shared his poems and spoke at Crossroad Community Church where his parents are members.

Stephen enjoyed fellowship time on Friday nights at Jesse Miles’ home. Two years ago, he learned he had stage 4 cancer. He was a fighter and wanted to get better. People at his workplace loved him and did all they could to make sure he was comfortable as he continued to work. His church was also very supportive. Two faithful ladies, Micki and Andrea, have helped keep his apartment clean. Micki said, ” Oh, what Stephen had to endure. He used the gifts God gave him and he had the joy of the Lord through it all.”

Survivors include his parents, Phil and Phyllis Huntt of Waterford; a sister, Kimberly Brooks (Scott) of Frewsburg, NY; two brothers, Jonathan Huntt of Erie and Jeffery Huntt of Waterford; a nephew, Keith Brooks of Frewsburg; and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.
