Tamara Jean Kastner, age 67, died unexpectedly of natural causes at her home in Conneautville on Friday, June 19, 2026. She was born in Union City on October 25, 1958, the daughter of Shelby Beason Metzenbacher of Albion and the late Harry Metzenbacher. She married Peter Kastner who survives.
Tammy recently retired from AirBorn and was known to be a hard worker with many interests. She loved Morgan horses, line dancing, dogs and cats, and in her younger years, playing softball. Her family can attest to her skills in quilting and cross-stitch, for many have been the recipient of her gifts. Tammy always enjoyed working in her garden and canning her vegetables.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Surviving family members include her beloved husband Pete; her mother Shelby; her daughter Corena Lynn Minnikin and husband Larry of Bancroft, Ontario, Canada; two grandsons, Karl Forman and wife Lindsay, and Mason Forman; 3 great-grandchildren, Peter, Charlotte and Claire; and her 4 brothers, David Metzenbacher and wife Michelle, Eric Metzenbacher and wife Sherry, Tracy Metzenbacher (Patty), and Brad Metzenbacher (Kelly); and 3 nieces, Nicole, Katie, and Megan.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Edinboro on Monday, June 22nd from 4-7pm and may attend the funeral service there Tuesday at 11:00am. Rev. Michael Taylor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Albion will officiate.
