Ray A. MacPherson, age 75, of Edinboro, passed on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was born in Bedford, OH, a son of the late George W. and Beatrice Twombly MacPherson.
Ray was preceded in death by 5 brothers- Robert, William, James, Bruce, and David MacPherson; 3 sisters- Christine MacPherson, Dorothy Clark, and Marilyn MacPherson; his beloved dogs- Pup, Max, and Fred; and his brother-in-law Gary Billings.
On June 6, 1986, Ray married Peggy Billings and she survives along with 4 siblings- Neil (Julie) MacPherson of North Carolina, Shirley Triola of Venango, Myrtle (Norman) Bogardus of Guys Mills, and Barbara (John) Bartlett of Meadville; many nieces and nephews including Bruce MacPherson of Edinboro and David (Beth) MacPherson of Warren; and his dog Jolene.
Ray drove truck for Frank Tucci Trucking and Construction, and held manager positions at Kwik Fill Stations in Corry, Meadville, and Cambridge Springs. While working at the Edinboro Kwik Fill, Ray developed health issues in October 2006 and ended up leaving employment. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a member of Engine House 39, and a life member of VFW Post 169, Venango, PA, and P.A.R.S.E. (PA Association of Retired State Employees).
Ray enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, hunting, fishing with Bruce in his boat, tinkering in his garage, and playing his air guitar. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland teams, especially the Browns, and he enjoyed watching NASCAR and was able to attend several races in previous years.
