Myers, Ron November 4, 1965 - January 13, 2026

Date of Funeral

January 17, 2026

Ronald Dennis Myers, age 60, of Mill Village, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was the son of Robert Myers and Rita Olsen born on November 4, 1965.

Ron served in the U.S. Army until 1987. He was stationed in Korea for 2 years, and upon discharge of service, he returned home to start a family and pursue a career with the Department of Corrections. For the next 28 years, he was maintenance manager both at SCI-Albion and SCI-Cambridge Springs. Ron became a valuable asset to the institutions as he was also an Asbestos Inspector and CPR Trainer. After retiring, he continued to work as a Home Modification Specialist for Voices for Independence where he designed living spaces to help handicapped individuals live more independently.

Family was the most important aspect of Ron’s life. He had a heart of gold and was a jokester to the end. He was a foster parent for 20 years always taking sibling sets to ensure the children stayed together. The majority of those children have continued to be in contact as he played a major role in their lives. He loved to travel to the Caribbean and take his children to amusements parks to terrorize them, make them ride roller coasters and other unsuspecting rides. Besides his family, Ron loved fishing, his 1970 Monte Carlo, and rooting for the Chicago Bears. If he wasn’t fishing on Lake Erie with his father-in-law, he was trout and steelhead fishing in Walnut creek with his girls as well as ice fishing on the bay.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert Myers and Rita Myers-Chojnacki, a brother, Ricky Myers, his grandfather, Lamoine “Frank” Olsen, Col, Plt Sgt, 112th infantry. Frank was the reason Ron joined the Army, as Frank was a platoon leader in the World War II Battle of the Bulge.

Ron is survived by his wife, Lisa (Suprynowicz) Myers, his two sons, Justin (Jen) and Corey; his three daughters, Taylor, Syndey, and Zoey; grandson Oliver; his brother, Rusty (Stacey); his in-laws, Anthony and Marguerite Suprynowicz; step-father Gayle Chojnacki; and great-grandmother Rita Frith.
