February 25, 2024

John L. “Jack” Thomas, age 88, of North East, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Edinboro Manor.

A press operator by trade, John spent his career working in local manufacturing at Presque Isle Plastics, Zurn, and at the time of his retirement, Ervite Corporation.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Reed, an infant sister Evelyn, a half-sister Judy Pildner, and his former wife June Mihalak. He is survived by his son John Thomas and his wife Amy of North Carolina; his daughter Patty Metzenbacher and her husband Tracy of Edinboro; his daughter Kim Winkelbauer and her husband Norb (Foobie) of Edinboro; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a half-brother Danny Thomas.

    John, Patty, and Kim,
Dan remembers Jack’s old red Honda motorcycle and John giving us rides on it after he earned Jack’s trust. He also remembers the horseshoe pit in the back yard. Didn’t realize Jack was that serious a player
Thinking of you at this difficult time. Sorry we weren’t able to make it to visitation
